Thanking Our Mentors

We’d like to take a moment to thank all the mentors who have helped us with our journey so far.

Thomas Schreiber

Simply one of the most amazing and generous advisors any company could wish for. When we first met, the experience he relayed from Shazam and 14 years at Google immediately had a great impact on how we strategised at the company. Since then, every time a particularly thorny issue comes up, Thomas has jumped in to help with great enthusiasm. In one particular case, through some great advice, we together succeeded in turning a potentially thorny situation into one that ended up supercharging the company, directly translating into investment. Thanks, Thomas, for helping build the next gen of tech!

Linda Jiang

One of our first mentor in 2021 is Linda Jiang. Linda, who built China’s largest mobile app analytic service (later acquired by Alibaba) and advised, invested and helped build a myriad of companies across the UK, the US and in China, is an absolutely unrivalled mentor and investor for us - her deep expertise with hardware as well as software, contagious enthusiasm and incredible kindness make her one of the first ports of call for each strategic decision the company makes in moving the product forward. Thanks, Linda, for helping to nurture the next gen of tech!

John Upton

John Upton’s experience from AI startups, to leading People Strategy at McDonald’s UK, to his current CEO role, to somehow also being a qualified lawyer with MA/PE/VC experience on top of all that, is only part of why he’s such an amazing mentor to the company. As an unrivalled communicator, he has been beyond impactful when it comes to advice on building, leading and scaling our team. Thank you, John, for helping build the next gen of tech!

Shannon Low

Director of Apps & Games Business Development EMEA at Google and ecosystem savant. Shannon’s advice already had a tremendous impact on the business. Next to amazing biz dev advice, he stressed the fact that – while as a full-stack startup we are often focused on building the hardware and software on the data collection end – users will access, see and get value almost exclusively from the accompanying app. This is something many full-stack startups miss, resulting in misdirected focus. We’ve now moved app development forward and made it key to our next steps in R&D, while also relying on his advice as we build the ecosystem around our data. A true #givefirst hero, thank you, Shannon, for helping to build the next gen of tech!
